This policy covers washdog.io, the pre-launch site for WashDog Inc. Right now this site does two things: it collects email addresses for our product launch list, and it measures which pages people actually read so we know what is worth writing more of.

What we collect

If you join the list: your email address, optionally the categories of items you tell us you tend to forget in your pockets, and which page you signed up from. We do not collect payment information on this site.

If you just visit: basic usage information, described below. You do not have to give us anything to read the guides.

How we use it

To send you product updates and your Kickstarter early-bird code when we launch, and to understand which articles are useful. We do not sell or rent your email address to anyone.

Analytics and cookies

We use two measurement tools, and it is worth being specific about what each one does.

Klaviyo runs our email list and sets first-party cookies in your browser to record which pages you view on this site. If you join the list, Klaviyo connects that browsing history to your email address, so we can see that someone read the AirPods guide before subscribing. If you never join, that activity stays tied to an anonymous browser ID and is not linked to you personally.

Vercel Web Analytics counts page visits in aggregate. It does not use cookies, does not track you across other websites, and does not collect anything that identifies you.

We do not use advertising trackers, we do not run third-party ad pixels on this site, and we do not share this data with advertisers.

Your choices

You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings, which stops the Klaviyo page tracking described above. The site works fine without them. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, you can opt out at any time, and we will remove you promptly. If you want your data deleted entirely rather than just unsubscribed, email us and we will do it.

How long we keep it

Until you ask us to delete it, or until the launch list is no longer active. This is a pre-launch list, not a permanent database.
